Spotted: Miley Cyrus And Liam Hemsworth Are Lollipop Kids

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Is it possible that we're seeing the development of a new power couple? With the success of "The Last Song" (which has made over $43 million at the box office, more than doubling its production budget) and upcoming albums and films from both of them, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are set to invade the entertainment world from all angles. Though she has told people that she wants to focus on movies and not music, she still has a hotly-anticipated album coming out in June called I Can't Be Tamed (with the title track dropping as its first single soon). "The Last Song" co-star and real life boyfriend Hemsworth no doubt has a number of opportunities in the horizon (he was recently selected by Details magazine as part of "The Next Generation of Hollywood Leading Men"). While in Los Angeles on Thursday (April 15), Cyrus donned her short shorts and Hemsworth sported his favorite Police T-shirt to enjoy some lollipops in the sun.

They weren't the only stars out and about, as Snoop Dogg performed a set at the Chandelier Room in lovely Hoboken, New Jersey, while "The Hills" veterans Kristin Cavallari and Audrina Patridge shopped at Madison in Beverly Hills. Taylor Swift Has No Fear Of 'Popology'

They say a well-rounded education is the key to success, and if that truly is the case, the my schooling is woefully incomplete when it comes to the subject of pop. That's why we bring you "Popology," the guide to modern radio-friendly stars as seen through the eyes of a guy who grew up on punk and metal. The first time I heard Taylor Swift's name, I thought she was an "American Idol" contestant. In my mind, I had transposed the fact that Carrie Underwood had evolved into a genuine country star and that they once had a winner named Taylor (even though that Taylor was a dude). That sort of confusion seems absolutely impossible now, as Swift has evolved from a crossover-friendly country star into a genuine pop phenomenon. Plenty of country stars have made their way into the mainstream before, but nobody has done it the way Swift has. The only artist who would even come close is Garth Brooks, and even at his most exposed, he never played the MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift's rise has been efficient because she has something that appeals to anybody who might bother to tune in. She plays and writes most of her own music, which keeps old rock writers happy. She has genuine country chops and comes from a small town, which buys her credibility with the famously uptight Nashville music establishment. She sings about boys and girl power, which gives her an in with teenage girls (the fact that she only just turned 20 years old helps with that too). And her songs are catchy and infectious, with makes her appealing to anybody else who might be left. Though her self-titled debut had no shortage of buzz surrounding it (mostly related to her age, her catchy fangirl single "Tim McGraw" and her general hotness), it was her 2008 follow-up Fearless that really turned her into a superstar (to date, it has sold more than eight million copies worldwide, a staggering number in the current musical climate).

Green Day, Them Crooked Vultures Invade This Week's 'Late Night Lineup'

The biggest news in late night comedy this week has nothing to do with anything being broadcast on the airwaves. Conan O'Brien, the former host of "The Tonight Show" who walked away from his post at the beginning of the year in a storm of controversy and Jay Leno, kicks off his tour on Monday night (April 12). He'll begin in Eugene, Oregon and cover over a dozen cities across the country. It will be interesting to see what he rolls out and how it plays into his potential return to television later this year.

But there are things happening on television too. Last week was a remarkably great few days for live music on talk shows, and this week is no different. "The Late Show with David Letterman" is on hiatus this week (perhaps they're all taking the next few days off to celebrate the host's birthday, which is today), but there are plenty of other people burning the midnight oil in an effort to entertain the sleepy and the unemployed. On "The Tonight Show," Leno will have sets from Sade on Monday, Lady Antebellum on Tuesday (April 13) and Collective Soul on Friday (April 16). He'll also chat with "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan, Nicolas Cage, Hugh Jackman and Betty White.

"Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" will follow with another fantastically eclectic group of musical guests, highlighted by the Specials on Tuesday, Kaki King on Wednesday (April 14) and the Flaming Lips on Friday. He'll also talk to NFL prospect Ndamukong Suh, Green Day (to talk about "American Idiot") and "Greenberg" breakout star Greta Gerwig.

But Jimmy Kimmel will top them all, as "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" features two nights worth of music from Them Crooked Vultures. The power trio — consisting of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme and legendary Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones — will play both Monday and Tuesday night. And just to kick it up a notch, Kimmel will have Spoon play a song on Thursday's show.

Coheed And Cambria Win MTV's Musical March Madness!

It's not even March anymore, but that's just what a big deal MTV's Musical March Madness is. We have gone five full rounds, run through 65 bands and watched over one million votes get cast, and in the end, we're left with a single band left standing.

Coheed and Cambria (and the fans who voted for them) didn't let their underdog status get them down. They entered the tournament as a 15 seed, but surged forward to take out the likes of Paramore, Mastodon, Phish, Alice in Chains and Tokio Hotel before overcoming My Chemical Romance in the final match-up. One of the traditions of the NCAA basketball tournament is the closing montage of highlights set to "One Shining Moment," so it only seemed appropriate that we give Coheed and Cambria the same sort of congratulatory send-off.

The group will be coming to collect their awesome trophy soon, but they have already expressed their gratitude to the people who brought them to this plateau. "The thing that has held up Coheed and Cambria through all these years is our fans," the band told MTV News in a statement sent just as polls were closing on Tuesday night (April 6). "They really came to bat for this contest, and it is humbling to say the least. Year of the Black Rainbow is our year, and their year! Thanks, MTV News, for giving our fans this platform to interact with so many other fans, it's been so fun to watch."

Angelina jolie and brad pitt spend Easter in Sarajevo

Easter wasn't all chocolate-covered bunny marshmallows for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The dazzling duo hopped on a plane from Venice to Sarajevo late Sunday for a surprise visit to meet refugees of Bosnia's 1992-95 civil war.

"They are in Bosnia to visit the sites run by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees," UNHCR spokeswoman Aida Prljaca told Agence France Presse.

No word on if Brangie have their brood in tow and Prljaca claims they'll have no contact with media during their jaunt.

An all-girls school in Tangi, Afghanistan, began its first semester last month thanks to a $75,000 donation from Goodwill Ambassador Angelina.

And here you thought your post-spring cleaning contribution was hefty.
